National Franchise Conference 2016.
On the event of the year for the franchising community, I fell in love with Canberra.
National Franchise Convention is a time for me to celebrate the love affair that I have with franchising and small business. It’s a time to reflect on what I have accomplished, what my team has accomplished and how the entire community has worked together to better people’s lives.
Canberra created nostalgia for me, as the week drew to a close – the order of the streets, the mustard hallways and history of Hotel Kurrajong, and the Australian history was all being absorbed. I found moments of mindfulness…
Old faces, new faces – mature franchise brands, ones in their birth stage, and others on their steep growth curve. All collectively coming together to bring life to the 2016 NFC program, the expo and the fostering of great conversation over a cup of tea…
This years’ conference had a focus on disruption, innovation and opportunity.
We all have varying definitions of innovation – many people see companies such as Uber and Airbnb are seen as innovators – but each individual, each company has different levels of innovation and disruption that they can implement.
Communication, resilience and inspiration was also discussed extensively – being the best version of yourself, and constantly improving yourself is the key to growth.
The FCA Excellence in Franchising Awards once again highlighted the amazing work that our community is doing. Congratulations not only to the winners, but also to all the nominees for their hard work – your ongoing effort and commitment is appreciated.
I would like to extend my congratulations to those who were presented with their CFE certification.
I hope to see many of your faces at IFA 2017 in Las Vegas.
